History/Background Story:
Atsuko was brought up a part of the Nara clan, in Konohagakure. To her parents, Annu and Maaku, she was their only child. She a a very plain childhood, neither completely obedient or a miscreant. She enrolled in the academy of Konohagakure aged ten. Even at that age, her peers regarded her as a popular icon. She was cool, calm and collected – with talent to boot. As a favoured daughter of the Nara clan, she was of course, good at using their Kekkei Genkai - Shadow control. When she graduated the academy two years later, she began to train with it.

She was assigned to a team almost immediately after leaving the academy. It took her a while to adjust to the new life and her teammates. They found her to be somewhat arrogant and vain. She worked hard to fashion a new image – a quietly confident young woman. After settling in, she was an asset to her team. Unlike some of the other teams of her generation, hers stayed the same (same Genin and Jounin) until she was highly ranked enough to regularly complete missions on her own. Her sensei put her up for the Chuunin exams when they next came around.

She progressed to the finals, even to the final fight. She lost, but impressed the elders enough to earn the rank of Chuunin. Noticing that her skills needed sharpening for this new role, she spent six months in solid training, even forsaking her team. When she returned, her skills were impressive. Along with her team, she began embarking on more dangerous missions.

Eighteen months later, she attained the rank of Jounin. She now seeks a team of her own, to guide just as well (if not better) than her sensei did for her.

Roleplay Sample:
It was the end of her first year as a Jounin. Frankly, Tsukiko thought, it hadn't been that different from being a Chuunin. She hadn't been on many Jounin-level missions, nor had she been given a team. Granted, she was still pretty new to it. She was looking forward to that - having a team. When she had been a part of one, she had had some of the best times of her entire life – after settling in, however. Now, more separated from her friends than ever before, she wondered how much she'd actually enjoy being a Jounin.

As these thoughts swam around in circles in her head, Tsukiko heard her footsteps soften. She stopped to look down, and then around her. Grass had cushioned her feet. "That was quick." She muttered, sitting down. This part of the lake was always quiet. Tsukiko found she could write her stories and poems here without interruption. She took a few crumpled bits of paper and a pencil from her pocket. For the first time in that day, she smiled. "It's not so bad." She murmured.

A few hours later, the young Jounin folded up the paper, the ink scribbled across it now dry. Sliding it back into her pocket, she stood up and stretched. The sun was beginning to set, and she was needed elsewhere. Before even taking one step, she stopped. She could hear commotion not far from her. She began to run towards the noise. It wasn't long before her eyes picked out the source from quite a distance. Speeding up, she arrived to a scene of broken market stalls and a seven-man brawl. She knew none of these men had any combat training, so this would be a doddle. Analyzing the situation, she moved from one man to the other in the order she had figured to be the quickest. A palm strike on the first's spine, another on the second's neck, one, two, three more to each of the people in turn. Sweeping the last off of his feet with a kick, she straightened up and stared at them. "Clear this mess up. I don't know or care what this was about." She turned heel and strode away, unable to hide a grin.

Description: Similar to the Clone Technique, this jutsu creates clones of the user. Unlike the Clone Technique, these clones are actual copies, not illusions. The user's chakra is evenly distributed among every clone, giving each clone an equal fraction of the user's overall power. The clones are capable of performing jutsu on their own and can even bleed, but will usually disperse after one or two solid blows. Unlike other clones, the Byakugan can’t detect them because the clones have the exact same amount of chakra and aren't made from any other substance, making them indistinguishable from the actual person. Any experience the clones gain during their existence is transferred to the user once they are dispersed.

Description: The user creates a single corporeal clone (not ‘normal’ bunshin). The user darts past the opponent and strikes across their shoulders and neck with an outstretched arm. At the same time, the clone delivers a similar strike to the target’s stomach. Both the user and clone kick the back of the target’s knees (one leg for user, one for clone) forcing him/her to kneel. Finally, both user and clone spin and deliver a powerful straight kick, one to each side of the back, sending the target tumbling and skidding away.

Description: The user fuels their emotions with powerful feelings (love, fury etc) and converts this into a mass of unstable chakra that surrounds their body. They then kick the target under the chin to send them rocketing into the air. The user leaps to catch up with the target before they are too high. The mass of chakra acts as a support for their feet as the following moves are carried out.
First, the user punches the target's stomach. This is swiftly followed by incredibly fast rising strikes to the torso. The user then grabs the target's foot and slings them to the floor.
To finish, the user pushes off using the 'chakra support' and flies down towards the grounded target, delivering a chakra-fueled punch as they land.

Name: Kage Mane no Jutsu (Shadow Imitation Technique)
Rank: C
Elements: None
Description: The signature move of the Nara family, this jutsu allows the user to control their own shadow and merge it with their opponent's shadow, combining them. This links the movements of the user with the target; the target is subsequently forced to make any movement the user makes. It is an extremely versatile technique, as the user can contract and change the shape of their shadow, potentially grabbing multiple targets at once. The degree to which the user's shadow can be stretched is limited by its total surface area. Using the shadows of other objects, the user can extend their shadow beyond its normal range.

Name: Kage Mane Tacchi no Jutsu (Shadow Bind Touch Technique)

Description: This jutsu allows the clan member's shadow to cover their own body (instead of the ground). It is, however, considerably more difficult to initiate than the original Kage Mane.

Description: Using blades such as kunai, a Nara clan member can imbue his/her shadow chakra to create "pins" to stick their opponent in place. These knives absorb the chakra nature of the user and give off the nature's effect. In this case, the knives take on the Nara clan's shadow binding properties. By implanting the shadow chakra enhanced blade into the shadow of the target, they will be frozen in place; just as if they were caught in one of the clan member's extended shadow bindings.

Description: First, the clan member enlarges their shadow. Then, similar to the Kage Nui, the large shadow rises out of the ground and forms a shadow-wall. The clan member can then release the absorbed technique through another connecting shadow (or move the wall and release it elsewhere).

Description: Once the target is caught in the Kage Mane, the user explodes the mass of shadow underneath into multiple thin spears. These 'spears' then curl over and pierce the target over and over, eventually physically pinning them to the ground. Finally, the clan member can simply walk over and kill the target. This technique can be applied to up to four different targets at a time.
